Fantastic!
The Kraken is amazing, I mean, next level amazing. I mean holding us relatively steady in 30mph winds and my boat is not open, fully enclosed, heavy aluminum.
It’s not perfect, there is an issue that you really have to dig around and find. I have 3 Odyssey Extreme’s 31m, they are aged at about 3 - 4 years… but they’re Odyssey’s and I don’t think you can get much better (talking deep cycle).
The Kraken hates them. Every few minutes it tells me my batteries are dead. I could try charging them individually, it will still end up back to them not being exactly equal, the Kraken sees the differences between the batteries and then tells you that you’re low on juice. I’m not.
You wouldn’t think, “no big deal” but it is and I will explain why. When the remote notifies you that your batteries are low, you can’t operate the motor until you accept that warning message. If you’re on auto pilot following a course, it won’t take you off of the course, so there is that, it’s not that bad. It’s just a nuisance being nagged and constantly having to accept that error message.
Other than that, it’s amazing. The advanced features are very easy to use. A lot of of guys buy these nice bow mounts and head units like the Garmin but get lost in the process of operating them.
I think Garmin has done away with that problem with the Kraken, it is super easy to use and understand
You know what I was most impressed with? Marine Reuse, you guys are amazing. Free shipping? Yep! Overnight at that. Maybe it was second day, regardless, you got it to me quicker than my local Cabela’s that’s an hour away and you’re on the other side of the country.
The Communication, the effort, it has definitely made me a long time customer! Thank you very much
